NICK Knowles has said that women love his sexy 'neanderthal' look but that he's happy being single.
The I'm A Celeb star opened up about how DIY SOS launched him as a daytime heartthrob.
Speaking to the , Nick, 56, admitted that he finds his pin-up status funny. He said:
"Honestly, it is kind of hilarious. You film any bloke for 10 days and edit it into 60 minutes, you can make them look really lovely and sexy.
“It’s like if you cut out all the irritating bits."
Before adding: "All the things that go with being a bloke in a relationship.”
The father-of-four bashfully revealed that he doesn't consider himself a hunk and actually thinks he looks "like a bag of spanners on TV.
"I think for anyone who likes the boy next door, I’m not it. But if your kind of idea of a man is a slightly heavy browed neanderthal, then I might well fit the bill."
But despite being a hit with the ladies - with Vicky Pattison even calling him 'a nice bit of kit' - the handyman has no intention of finding love in the jungle.
Nick said that instead he wants to use it as an opportunity to spend time with people he wouldn't usually get the chance to.
And he went so far as to say "I don’t think these intense situations on television programmes is a place to be finding long-term romance."
Twice-divorced Nick said that he's "happy being single.”
And so self-deprecating is the star that he even recently embraced being likened to cringeworthy David Brent over his debut album.
Nick was compared to Ricky Gervais’ manager turned troubadour from The Office after last year’s release.
He exclusively told The Sun that he didn't mind the comparison, he said:
“I don’t mind about being called David Brent.
“If you stopped yourself having a go at things because people who have never done anything have a go at you, then there’s no point.”
The I’m A Celeb favourite added: “Me coming from a background of telly, I was always going to get hammered for it.
“But how many people have had an album with Universal?”
