The show's producers teased fans when the character - played by Shane Richie - initially appeared in a FaceTime call.
Before he eventually arrived in person to the Square to pitch his brand new business - Blue Moon Funerals - to Kat.
But perhaps as to be expected between the fiery duo, things quickly heated up.
Kat immediately launched into a tirade about how he had abandoned her and stolen away her sons.

She even apologised profusely for sleeping with someone else as she remains in the dark about his secret fling with her cousin Hayley Slater.
But despite the drama, fans were still quick to welcome the much-loved character back with open arms.

One enthusiastically wrote: "Yesss Alfie Moon is finally back on the square."
Another tweeted: "Great to see @realshanerichie back as Alfie Moon! He has been missed."
And one fan even noted how well he's looking, writing: "Yayyy Alfie Moon!!

Alfie's shock return came after we revealed yesterday that he would be making an appearance - though the purpose behind his return remains unclear.
Kat is currently unaware her cousin Hayley had a one night stand with her estranged husband which led to the birth of her new-born daughter.
However, last month Jean Slater miraculously worked out Alfie is the mystery dad.
For weeks, Hayley has been hiding her pregnancy and the identity of the tot’s father from everyone.
Jean hadn’t let up however and has constantly pushed her to come clean about who the dad is.
While Hayley has laid down red herrings, Jean was like a dog with a bone and appeared to have a light bulb moment.
After rowing with Hayley, she picked up a calendar to cross check dates Hayley had given her.
Then, throwing her hand to her mouth she gasped – seemingly realising that Alfie did the dirty on Kat and got Hayley up the duff.

Fans of the hit BBC One soap have known for a while and said what they found most confusing about the big reveal was how Jean managed to work it out, simply by using a calendar.
Even if it did have a massive picture of his face on it.
One fan asked: “Can someone tell me how Jean figured it out just by looking at the calender and seeing a pic of Alfie ????? I’m confused!”

Another quipped: “I'm not sure how Jean put two and two together and came up with Alfie,” while a third tweeted: “How did our Jean work out that it was Alfie just by counting nine months back on the calendar and seeing a picture of him. I have missed something surely?”
