Coronation Street’s Imogen returns to ruin Rana and Kate’s engagement as actress Melissa Johns is spotted filming on set
Imogen's arrival in Weatherfield is tipped to be a catalyst for a Christmas storyline involving Kate and her fiancée Rana Nazi
CORONATION Street couple Kate Connor and Rana Nazir could see their engagement in trouble with the arrival the former's ex Imogen.
Melissa Johns, who played Imogen, has been spotted on set to film a few episodes as it heads towards Christmas.
Imogen's arrival in Weatherfield is tipped to be a catalyst for a Christmas storyline involving Kate and Rana.
While TV insiders say Imogen is not back for Kate, her reappearance will have repercussions for the couple's relationship.
A source said: "Imogen is not back for Kate, nor is there an indication that they will reunite in any way.
"In fact, it’s Rana who has most contact with her and conversations could make her see that what she and Kate have is worth fighting for."
Imogen will meet up with Rana during a crisis point for the Kana relationship.
Viewers have been rooting for Kate and Rana, affectionately referred to as Kana, as the couple have overcome a lot together.
Kate was there for Rana when her marriage to Zeedan broke down, and supported her through the reaction of her parents to her coming out.
Since getting together the pair have gone from strength to strength and are engaged to be married.
However, like everywhere in soapland, there is trouble on the horizon for the love-struck pair.
Kate, still consumed with grief over the loss of her brother Aidan Connar, played by Shayne Ward, nearly makes a terrible mistake.
Desperate to get pregnant, Kate propositions hunky Adam Barlow but thankfully she sees sense before anything can happen.
Kate and Rana's love appears to the real deal and it seems Imogen's return will help them deal with a lot of issues.
