Nigella Lawson reveals her secret beauty trick to keeping youthful skin… she uses Marigold washing up gloves
STUNNING TV cook Nigella Lawson has revealed her secret beauty trick to keeping her skin in great condition - she exfoliates using a pair of Marigold washing up gloves.
The Domestic Goddess, 58, admitted that she uses silicone gloves, worth just £10, for the bizarre skin-smoothing method.
She said: “I am the sucker who buys things. I recently bought some washing up gloves with silicone bits on the palm for scrubbing. I exfoliate with them. I like them.”
Speaking at a Q&A session in London on Sunday the brunette beauty also admitted to enjoying fast food and sweet treats.
Nigella, mum to Cosima, 24, and Bruno, 22, with the late writer John Diamond, said: “You should not have any guilt about pleasure. You should only ever feel guilt if you dont take pleasure.
“In certain moments I do like a bit of plastic bread with a cheese triangle on. That can be delicious.
“I like old fashioned sweets like rhubarb and custard sweets. The other day I did have a great need for some Milky Ways.”
It comes after the telly star confessed she has cut back on alcohol with age because it gave her anxiety.
Speaking last month Nigella, wed to advertising guru Charles Saatchi for ten years until 2013, said: “I feel I’m quite an anxious person and drink can really exacerbate that anxiety.
“It gets rid of it at first but then afterwards, that horrible tight feeling of worry and generally not feeling quite right.”
Meanwhile, celebrity cosmetic doctor Vincent Wong warns against Nigella’s beauty trick. He said: “It’s such a bad idea to use Marigold gloves to exfoliate.
“The texture of the gloves are quite rough and it can be really damaging to over stress your skin. She’s doing the complete opposite to helping her skin.”
