Spencer had his dad's social media followers in hysterics after he compared him to the iconic Pigeon Lady from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Piers, 53, retweeted his son's post with three angry face emojis and it wasn't long before fans flooded their social media platform with comments.

On Monday morning Spencer shared with his 27,000 Twitter followers a photo of Oscar-winning actress Brenda Fricker, 73, in her role as the Pigeon Lady.

He told them: "Chilled night watching Home Alone 2.

"Always forget you're in it @piersmorgan..."

Many fans were quick to point out that while Piers might be insulted, it was actually actress Brenda Fricker who should be outraged.

One wrote in reply: "If I were the great Brenda Fricker, i'd sue. Great post though" while others thought that ex-Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce bore a stronger likeness.
