Baywatch star Pamela Anderson blasts the #MeToo movement and says it ‘paralyses men’
The nineties sex symbol slammed the campaign against sexual harassment and said people must take responsibility for their own safety
PAMELA Anderson has slammed the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment, claiming it is “a bit much” and that people should take responsibility for keeping themselves safe.
The former Baywatch star, 51, branded the campaign as “third wave feminism” and insisted that it “‘paralyses men.”
The American actress said: “I think that this Me Too movement is a bit too much for me. I’m sorry, I’ll probably get killed for saying that, but my mother taught me, don’t go to a hotel with a stranger.
“I think this feminism can go too far. I’m a feminist, but I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyses men.”
Speaking on Australian talkshow 60 Minutes the nineties sex symbol defended posing nude for Playboy magazine. She said: “I think it was very empowering, and no one forced me to do anything,” she said, referring to her time in the famous mansion.
But earlier this year Pamela, who has two sons Brandon, 21 and Dylan, 20 with her ex rocker Tommy Lee, 56, opened up about the sordid parties that went on in the Playboy mansion with magazine mogul Hugh Hefner, who died last year aged 91.
She said: “Everyone was naked in the grotto and the girls were downstairs and they all went upstairs.
“I followed them upstairs. I thought, ‘What could be going on up here?’ Seven girls, one at a time with Hef.’
“There were all types of beautiful girls of all shapes and sizes. It was erotic and playful but innocent.”
