EMMERDALE fans have been left in tears after Ross Barton left the village with Rebecca White and baby Seb.
The mechanic - who is played by actor Mike Parr in the ITV soap - finally departed the village for Liverpool after making peace with the horrendous few years he has been through.
He was prepared to leave alone after Aaron Dingle tried to emotionally manipulate Rebecca White into staying under pain of a huge court battle for baby Seb.
But after realising the heartbreak Aaron's selfish behaviour was having on Rebecca, Robert convinced her to go.
"I don't know what to say," he told her.
But as Rebecca broke down in tears, he told her: "I saw Ross before in the village. Are you not going to say goodbye?"
He later told her that she had to go and to take Seb with them so they could both be happy.
Going home he told Aaron that Seb wouldn't be coming home for a while.
He told him: "I'm letting him go, I have to. It's the right thing to do."
Aaron rushed out but by the time he had got there, Rebecca was already packed and ready to go with Seb and Ross.
A shocked Ross couldn't believe his luck and as he said goodbye to everyone in the village, he got into Rebecca's car.
She told him: "Leave it any longer and we'll hit rush hour traffic on the way. I'll explain everything on the way. Grab your bags and I'll explain everything."
