Who is Viola Davis? What is her net worth?

Viola, 53,  is an American actress and producer born on August 11, 1965.

Born in St Matthews, South Carolina, she began her acting career starring in minor theatre productions.

After graduating from the Juilliard School in 1993, Viola began her career on stage and won an Obie Award in 1999 for her performance as Ruby McCollum in Everybody's Ruby.

Her breakthrough roles were in the 2008 film Doubt and of course 2011 film The Help.

Since 2014 she has played the lead role of lawyer Annalise Keating in TV show How to Get Away with Murder.

Viola has a fortune of £9million.

When did Viola win an Academy Award?

Viola has had three Academy Award nominations.

She was nominated for her roles in Doubt and The Help.

But in 2017 she won the coveted Best Actress in a Supporting Role gong for the film Fences.

What is Viola's new movie Widows about?

The 2018 film Widows is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities.

Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Viola), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands.

They conspire to forge a future on their own terms.
