Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans hail ‘new Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ as Netflix horror series makes a huge splash

CHILLING Adventures of Sabrina has been hailed as the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer by viewers.

The teen witch horror show was released on Netflix earlier today and despite there just being ten episodes, fans have fallen in love with the new iteration of Sabrina, but have pointed out she's more Buffy than the other Sabrina.

Based on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic books, the teenage half-witch half-mortal battles the forces of evil and good to keep her mortal life as well as owning her birthright of being a powerful witch.

And viewers are impressed with one writing: "There’s a real ‘early seasons of Buffy’ vibe to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and I am absolutely onboard."

A second added: "I am getting major Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and I am all in. But also there's a cat, so I mean, I was going to watch whether I liked it or not."

A third said: "If there was ever a spiritual successor to Buffy, it's the new Sabrina series. all the main themes are there. choice, growing up, female empowerment... the only thing lacking is Whedon's wit."

"Real strong Buffy vibe, but with more horror and less fighting. Loved the original, and yeah it's a shame Salem doesn't talk, but this remake retains enough elements and does it's own rather brill thing with them. Watch it."
