Stand Up To Cancer viewers heartbroken as Michael Buble cries over ‘pain’ of five-year-old son’s cancer diagnosis
STAND Up To Cancer viewers have been left heartbroken watching Michael Buble break down in tears talking about his son's cancer diagnosis at the age of just three.
The Canadian singer revealed to James Cordon in a Carpool Karaoke charity special tonight that he found it "painful" to talk about the moment he found out Noah, now five, had liver hepatoblastoma.
During an emotional moment in the car as the presenter drove, the star said: "It is so hard to have to acknowledge it.
"Obviously we got his diagnosis and that was it, my whole life ended.
Michael, 43, continued: "At first it was just, it is too hard to talk about.
"They said it wasn’t great so we took it day by day."
He explained: "We had the best doctors."
Of how it affected him and his wife Luisana Lopilato, he said: "I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us.
"When they got it out and chemo was done, I just fell. My wife picks me up.
Another commented: " on was unbelievable, to think what that guy went through is heartbreaking, raw emotion and yet still, still he cracked a smile, the guy is a legend and his son is a super hero"
It comes after Michael opened up about his heartache over the diagnosis in another interview earlier this month.
Speaking on Australia's The Today Show, he said: "It sucked and it still sucks, because what we went through was the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being.
"I'd much rather it'd have been me. I wished that many times, I wished that it happened to me."
In February last year, Michael released a statement to confirm that Noah had progressed well following treatment, and that he and Luisana were "very optimistic" about his future.
He shared at the time: "He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us."
In July of this year, Noah's uncle, Dario Lopilato, said that the little boy is "doing well" following treatment.
Alongside Noah, Michael and Luisa have two-year-old Elias, and three-month-old Vida together.
The pair married in March 2011 after they met on set for Michael's Haven’t Met You Yet music video in 2009.
