JUDGE JERRY

Jerry Springer in talks for new US courtroom style show to air in 2019

The new show could launch as soon as Autumn 2019

JERRY Springer is in talks to host a US courtroom style show.

The TV presenter, 74 - who is also a former lawyer - could already have his next gig lined up after NBCUniversal pulled the plug on his long-running talk show earlier this year.

It's claimed the syndicated daytime courtroom show will aptly be titled Judge Jerry and will see the telly host deal with small-claims cases.

And small claims should be a walk in the park for Jerry, given that he dealt with a man who married a horse and a mother-daughter dominatrix team on The Jerry Springer Show.

NBCUniversal are reportedly hoping to launch the programme in Autumn 2019.

The timing would work perfectly given that Jerry's talk show air its final season just before.

Like Judge Judy, the show will see Jerry chuck on his judge's robes and listen to people air their legal disputes from behind his desk.

It's expected to incorporate some elements from his old show, which was jam-packed with rowdy moments and saw the raucous audience often break out into the chant "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!"

The new show will feature a bailiff and two angry litigants who will go head-to-head before the judge makes his verdict.
