EastEnders’ Danny Dyer shows off his skills at charity football game
EASTENDERS’ Danny Dyer worked up a sweat on Sunday after swapping Walford for the wing.
The 41-year-old played alongside a number of big name stars at a charity football match that raised money for Tranmere Rovers In The Community and James Bulger Memorial Trust.
Danny is a football fanatic and during this year’s World Cup recorded a number of skits that played out on the BBC soap.
The avid West Ham fan looked completely at home on the pitch and gave his followers a thrill by whipping his shirt off.
Speaking to Tranmere Rovers FC after the game, Danny said: “I love the Tranmere, you’re the underdogs!
“It’s important, when you have this thing called fame there is a responsibility with it. Too many people find fame and are very self-aware and they aren’t selfless enough.
“I’ve been given this gift and I want to help raise awareness.
“What happened with James was a tragedy and we need to keep his spirit alive.
“West Ham have always been the underdogs and we need to support the underdog communities.
“I know you’ve got it tough up here you Northern mob. I’ve got nothing but respect.
“There’s a lot of rich people up here worth a few quid, put your fingers in your pockets. It’s important you help others.”
As well as being best known for his role as Mick Carter in EastEnders, Danny is about to embark on a new adventure.
He will live like a king for the day in a new TV show exploring Royal history.
Danny himself has regal roots and found out on Who Do You Think You Are that he was related to related to Edward III and William the Conqueror.
