Ariana Grande gets over her heartbreak with shopping spree in Chanel after split with Pete Davidson

ARIANA Grande tried to take her mind off her split from Pete Davidson today with a big spending spree in Chanel.

The chart-topper, 25, was seen wandering the streets of New York with two huge shopping bags - having indulged in some retail therapy after calling off her engagement.

Ariana proved to have splashed the cash at the designer's SoHo store, as she emerged with her two bulging bags and a smile on her face.

While she picked up plenty of luxuries at the store, the singer kept things casual and comfortable herself for the outing, after her painful break-up from Pete.

She stepped out in grey tracksuit bottoms and padded coat, but maintained her usual sense of glamour with pearl earrings and a cross-body handbag, also by Chanel.

Ariana looked happy to be catching up with friends, after calling off her engagement to the Saturday Night Live comedian, 24.

According to TMZ, the pair split after a string of rows and a tough month coping with the loss of her rapper ex-Mac Miller.

An insider told The Sun Online: “Ariana dumped Pete. They'd been rowing for two weeks about Pete's lack of support after Mac's death.

“Ariana has been devastated and Pete couldn't handle it. She realised she needs a grown-up who can support her and that's not him."

News of the split came after Ariana told fans she was struggling and desperate to have "one okay day"following the death of her ex.

Mac died on September 7 from a drugs overdose and Ariana later apologised for not being able to help him in a candid post.

She wrote: “I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Ariana's family are no doubt delighted to see her taking a day off in NYC, after growing concerned she was working too much in a bid to take her mind off Pete.
