Frozen star Kristen Bell slams Disney classic Snow White for teaching boys to kiss without permission

The actress, 38, also reflected on how the Disney character never questions the witch's intentions for giving her a poison apple

FROZEN star Kristen Bell has slammed Disney classic Snow White for sending the wrong message about consent to children.

The actress, 38, said the story taught boys to kiss without permission as Snow White is asleep when the prince touches her.

Talking to the website, she said it came to her while reading the fairy-tale to her daughters Lincoln, five, and Delta, three.

She said: "Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission? Because you can not kiss someone if they’re sleeping!"

Kristen also reflected on how Snow White never questions the witch's intentions for giving her a poison apple.

She added: "Every time we close Snow White, I look at my girls and ask, 'Don’t you think it's weird that Snow White didn’t ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?'

"I say, 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like, 'No!' And I’m like, 'Okay, I’m doing something right.'

In the 1938 Disney classic, Snow White falls into a slumber after taking a bite of a poisoned apple from a wicked queen, who is jealous of her beauty.

She remains asleep for a year until a prince comes and kisses her. Snow White then awakens and they live happily ever after in his castle.

Meanwhile, in September Kristen confirmed that a Veronica Mars revival is on the way, more than 10 years after the show was cancelled.
