EASTENDERS star Danny Walters has revealed the inevitable clash between Keanu Taylor and Phil Mitchell will be "interesting" and may not end as fans suspect.
The actor - who plays mechanic Keanu in the BBC soap - spoke exclusively to The Sun Online's Soap Bubble about his character's illicit affair with Phil's wife Sharon Mitchell and how it's all going to explode.
Promising the clash would be "interesting", he added: "There's a lot at stake and they both know the repercussions and they're both very aware of what they're doing.
"There's still a lot to find out about Keanu with his background and we still don't know what Keanu is really capable of.
"We do know Phil Mitchell's reputation but we don't know Keanu's reputation in full yet."
He added: "Keanu is definitely aware of the repercussions, and there are times when he has to think about what could happen to him and their relationship.
"But mainly it's about what could happen to Sharon. He is in love with Sharon, he's smitten with her, and when you are in love and when you fall for someone you don't really think straight sometimes.
"Keanu is very emotionally invested in Sharon and so he's not thinking logically, he's not thinking straight."
And as an actor, Danny just wants to do the best job he can - even if it means his character gets killed off.
He said: "All of this stuff is out of our control and as long as the story serves its purpose, then as an actor, that's all you can really do.
"I never take any script for granted, never take any storyline for granted."
But while Keanu is having a stressful time, Danny is loving seeing the two characters just having fun for a change.
"It's been a really good storyline to get myself involved in," he said.
"It's been pretty nice to see Sharon Mitchell in a different light too, in a fun way, a much happier Sharon Mitchell. It's also been very good for Keanu too to showcase who he really is."
And viewers couldn't fail to notice the sheer amount of times Danny has had to strip off for his on-screen romps, but he's fine with baring all.
He said: "I've always said to myself as long as the scenes serve purpose for the story which they have and it adds to the story, and adds to the complexity and adds to the layer to the story.
"It showcases their fun side as well because we know this storyline isn't always going to be fun - there are going to be repercussions, there are going to be secrets that get told and there's going to be drama.
"We've tried to build a whole picture and hopefully we've achieved that."
And fortunately for both Danny and Letitia Dean who plays Sharon, the reaction has been hugely positive.
He revealed: "People really like Keanu and Sharon. They're really behind them and they quite like their relationship. It's been really positive and we've had loads of positive reaction from viewers."
And he spoke of what Sharon was missing with middle-aged, recovering alcoholic gangster Phil that drove her into Keanu's bed.
He said: "Keanu fulfils certain parts of Sharon's love language and Sharon is obviously missing certain parts of her desire.
"There's certain parts of Sharon's love languages that Sharon's missing and that's why she's having this affair.
"Keanu is that guy to come in and make her feel younger, make her feel special, make her feel attractive and that's what most women want. Keanu is providing that so that's why they're together because they fulfil each other's love languages."
Danny also teased Keanu's darker side which has been brewing since viewers discovered his father had tried to kill his mother when he was younger.
The actor said he'd love to explore Keanu's darker side that was hinted at with the reveal his dad had tried to murder his mum.
He said: "I'm always up for new storylines and any story that I do get I try to do the best that I can. But all of that is out of our control.
";It would be interesting, but who knows, anything could happen."
And with award-winning former Coronation Street boss Kate Oates recently starting in Walford, Danny can't wait for her to get started.
He said: "I have briefly had a chance to speak to her and we're all really looking forward to her starting the show."
