Paul Hollywood blasted as ‘savage’ by Bake Off fans who claim he gets ‘meaner’ by the episode
PAUL Hollywood has been blasted as "savage" by Bake Off fans who claim he's getting 'meaner' by the episode.
Last night's episode ended up being one of the most controversial in the show's history as Manon was sent home over Rahul, who had had a disastrous week.
Judges Paul and Prue Leith also left Kim-Joy in tears and gave out blunt criticism to the remaining bakers.
Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their upset at the way the episode had left them feeling, and hit out at the 52-year-old.
One wrote: "Paul with the 'ironically it was the pain au chocolat' savage comment to Manon at the end #GBBO" while another added: "@PaulHollywood savage as f**k 'Ironically it was over a pain au chocolat'"
A third tweeted: "Paul is savage tonight!#GBBO".
A fourth shared a gif of Paul saying 'Not.Good.Enough' and wrote: "Paul Hollywood has spent weeks giving out handshakes left, right and centre then this week has gone savage."
Angry viewers branded the show a fix after Manon's shock departure, as fellow baker Rahul avoided the chop, even though all three of his efforts were slammed by the judges.
But they were also upset by the way Paul's harsh critique of Kim-Joy's bakes left her in tears.
One wrote on Twitter: "Paul Hollywood is a BIG MEANIE. @kimjoykitchen did a work of art, and he made her cry. Rotter."
Another added: "Paul goes from dishing out all the handshakes other weeks to making everyone cry #GBBO".
A third shared: "BTW I don't know what Paul Hollywood was on this week - but he was beyond harsh. People crying right left and centre #GBBO."
