PIERS Morgan has been slammed by Captain America star Chris Evans for claiming it is “emasculating” for Daniel Craig to carry his son in a papoose.

The Good Morning Britain host criticised the James Bond actor for using a baby carrier – leading Chris to say he is "terrified on the inside".

Tweeting a picture of the James Bond actor taking a walk with his newborn daughter strapped to his chest, Piers wrote: "Oh 007.. not you as well?!!!"

He added the hashtag #emasculatedBond.

The tweet sparked outrage from US actor Chris, who questioned why Piers was commenting on other people's parenting skills.

He said: "You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child.

"Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside."

Piers replied: "Captain America wouldn't wear a papoose."

The post was retweeted 41,000 times within just a few hours, as Piers engaged in a debate with followers.

He later shared a picture of himself wearing a tux and wrote: “One thing’s clear after tonight’s ferocious Papoose-gate debate: we need a new James Bond.

“A 007 who looks sharp in a tux & wouldn’t be seen dead in a papoose....”

A child carrier - also known as a papoose - allows parents to walk with their children strapped to their bodies.

Daniel's wife, the actress Rachel Weisz, reportedly gave birth to a daughter in August. The couple married in 2011.
