Lorraine said: "Obviously the Palace is standing by, they've been waiting on this all morning - the psychic cat."

The Sun's Dan Wootton, who is Lorraine's showbiz correspondent, then promised viewers their special guest would reveal whether Meghan is having her first baby boy or girl.

He said: "Phoenix from the Cat's protections agency. He has not got one prediction wrong yet.

"He is now going to predict the sex of the royal baby."

Without hesitation, the mystic moggy began eating out of the pink bowl, meaning he's sure Megan and Harry will have a daughter in the Spring.

Dan added: "Oh my goodness, it's a girl. There's no doubt.

"Well, we've learnt what the gender is six months before the world."

Announcing the happy news yesterday, Kensington Palace released a statement saying: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”

It led to speculation about when the tot was conceived on their mini-moon to Dublin – or even at a pal’s wedding.

And many have been wondering what the pair plan to name their first born, with Diana, Arthur and Alice being the top-runners.
