Arlene Phillips hints Strictly Come Dancing pair Katya and Neil Jones are in an ‘open relationship’ after her snog with Seann Walsh

ARLENE Phillips has hinted that Strictly dancers Katya and Neil Jones are in an “open relationship” after her snog with Seann Walsh.

Strictly fans were left shocked this weekend by images of the married pro kissing the comedian in the street – but former judge Arlene has admitted that no one really knows what Katya’s marriage is like.

Alluding to a deal they might have, the star - who has known Katya and Neil for years - said on Lorraine: “We all love Neil and Katya, there is a togetherness, in truth who knows what their relationship [is like]?

“I know many people who have open relationships and we know nothing about Seann’s relationship with his girlfriend.”

Neil Jones seems to be supporting his wife, who he married in 2013 and has been with for 10 years, while Seann’s girlfriend Rebecca Humphries has dumped him.

Arlene believes Katya and Seann should be able to perform and has begged the judges to just look at their dancing this weekend when they dance the Charleston.

She said: “I don’t think they should allude to it. Because whatever they do, whatever way they allude to it, they will be doing the wrong thing for somebody. We’ve had these difficult moments before.

“They have to come in and judge them on the dance they have to be professional.

"They are hired as professional judges, they are hired to do that, they are not moral code judges. It’s about the dances, technique and storytelling.”

Arlene, who was axed from the judging panel in 2008, added: “I absolutely think they should be allowed to dance.

"They are consenting adults, the public appear to be the moral guardians. I’m not condoning what they did at all but it’s a dance competition, unless they have signed some kind of disclosure, that there is a behaviour contract, they are not about to be stopped from dancing, that’s what they are hired to do, dance.”

The BBC have confirmed the pair will perform on the Latin and ballroom programme as expected this weekend, despite calls for them to be axed.

They have been back in training this week after publicly apologising to their respective partners, ahead of their Charleston routine to Lunchmoney Lewis' 'Bills'.

The dance is not expected to involve as much contact as their Paso Doble last week and following their kiss it has been claimed that Seann and Katya's routine was made less "sexy".
