Seann Walsh’s girlfriend mocks his name in damning statement that dumped him – and here’s the cringeworthy reason he changed it
Rebecca Humphries was praised for her honesty in a scathing open letter to her now ex-boyfriend but fans spotted something else damning in her blistering statement
SEANN Walsh’s girlfriend took aim at the spelling of his name in the damning statement she released last night to dump in.
Actress Rebecca Humphries was praised for her blistering open letter which blasted Seann for snogging Katya Jones.
Thousands have tweeted and saved the statement, hailing Rebecca “brave” and “inspirational”.
But others have been celebrating her scathing message for another reason, but not everyone may have spotted it.
Near the start of her letter, Rebecca wrote: “It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) and Katya to apologise the media. I have received nothing…”
While some people read over the line without spotting it, some of Rebecca’s followers gleefully delighted in her jibe at the spelling of his name.
Is there a Strictly Come Dancing 'curse'? We have a look back
Sean’s real name does not have a double N spelling.
Instead, when he was building his career as a comedian, the 32-year-old added the extra letter to make it into his “showbiz” name.
He was inspired by American Pie and said of the decision: “When I was at school, my favourite film was American Pie and my favourite character was Stifler. Stifler was played by Seann William Scott, he had two 'n's, so I put another one on. That's not on my passport, it's my showbiz name.”
Since releasing her statement, Seann has come under increased pressure to quit the BBC dancing show.
