Emmerdale’s Mark Jordon charged with GBH for ‘BITING an OAP’ during pub row
Jordon was originally arrested and released under investigation – but has now been charged
EMMERDALE star Mark Jordon has been charged with GBH and assault after allegedly biting an OAP.
Andy Potts, 67, was taken to hospital with a facial injury.
The men argued earlier in a pub after Andy yelled “Emmerdale!” and joked about the actor’s daughter Poppy, 17, who was also there, kissing someone.
Jordon, 53 — TV ex-squaddie Daz Spencer — faces the axe if guilty. GBH convictions often carry jail terms.
A source on the ITV soap said yesterday: “It’s very serious. Producers are concerned and weighing up what to do. It’s possible Mark will be suspended — and if found guilty his days would be numbered.”
He was nicked after the alleged July clash in Oldham, Gtr Manchester. Police have now confirmed: “Jordon is charged with GBH and common assault.”
He is due to appear before magistrates in Ashton-under-Lyne on November 8.
The dad of two, formerly PC Phil Bellamy in ITV’s Heartbeat, joined Emmerdale in 2014.
He is dating co-star Laura Norton, 35, who plays Kerry Wyatt. ITV refused to comment.
