Why were Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski arrested?
Comedian Amy Schumer and model-actress Emily Ratajkowski were among more than 300 people arrested on October 4, 2018 in protests over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Hundreds of people turned up at the US Senate building in the nation's capital to challenge Kavanaugh's nomination after three women accused him of various forms of sexual misconduct, with Amy and Emily among them.
Footage from the scene shows the two actresses being detained after an officer asked if they want to be arrested.
What did they say about Brett Kavanaugh on Twitter?
Emily revealed on Twitter that she'd been detained while protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Kavanaugh in Washington, D.C.
She tweeted: "Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault".
Ratajkowski, 27, captioned a photo of herself holding up a sign that reads, "Respect female existence or expect our resistance."
Amy so far hasn't tweeted about her arrest, but on September 28, 2018 she made her thoughts about Kavanaugh known by tweeting: "The best tool we have to #StopKavanaugh is our voices. Two senators have not yet stated their plans to confirm Kavanaugh. We need your voices and stories, Alaska and Maine! Please join me in demanding Senators Collins and Murkowski #HearUsNow. "
