MODEL Emily Ratajkowski was arrested during a protest outside Washington today.

The 27-year-old told fans than she had been taken into custody as she shared a snap of her holding a poster, which read: "Respect female existence or expect our resistance."

She captioned it: "Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.

"Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter.

"I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men."

She stood alongside actress and comedian Amy Schumer to fight for what she believes in outside the Supreme Court today.

They are opposed to US President Donald Trump's nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Federal super cops were tasked by Trump last week to look into allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against Kavanaugh by three women.

Earlier this week, Trump mocked the "evil people" trying to destroy judge Kavanaugh at a rally in Mississippi.

The FBI has now handed over a report on sexual misconduct accusations against the 53-year-old.

The White House is now “fully confident” that Kavanaugh will be confirmed on the US Supreme Court following the investigation.

He strongly denies all of the allegations.
