Gary Barlow reveals he no longer rides the Tube after being 30ft away from the 7/7 bombings

GARY Barlow has revealed he was just 30 feet away from the 7/7 bombings and can no longer ride the London Underground as a result of the trauma.

The Take That legend was stuck on a tube train at Edgware Road when terrorists struck, killing six people on the day of co-ordinated attacks in 2005 which claimed 52 lives and left more than 700 injured.

Gary opened up about the incident during an exclusive interview in front of Sun readers at our HQ yesterday as he released his tell-all autobiography A Better Me.

He said: “We were on a train that was heading into the Edgware Road tunnel – as the train pulled out the explosion went off.

“When the bomb went off it was just the most unbelievable force and were all kind of on top of one another. It had taken our legs from under us. It was almost like the force of it was in your jaw, it was so powerful.”

Gary was then stuck on the train for an hour with no idea of what was going on as passengers cried and screamed around him.

He recalled: “It was really terrifying. Our carriage filled with dust and smoke and everyone was dusty and black. And we got off there really not knowing that there was anything else happening around.”

Gary can no longer travel on the London Underground as a result of the “trauma” he suffered that day, saying: “I definitely cannot ride the tube now. I would be terrified on there.”
