The Peaky Blinders star is swapping the studio for the football pitch to take part in Soccer Aid 2024.

Who is Emmett Scanlan?

Born on January 31, 1979, Emmett Scanlan is an Irish actor from Dublin.

He shot to fame playing the evil Brendan Brady in Hollyoaks.

The actor landed the role in 2010, but left in 2013 in pursuit of bigger roles.

Leaving the Channel 4 soap proved a good move for Emmett as he has gone onto star in numerous major TV shows.

What has Emmett Scanlon starred in?

Since leaving Hollyoaks, Emmett has been an in demand actor.

Straight after leaving the soap he starred in The Fall alongside Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson.

He also had a lead role in the fifth series of Peaky Blinders playing Billy Grade.

Other big TV shows he's acted in include In The Flesh (2014), Beowulf: Return To The Shieldlands (2015), No Offence (2016) and Butterfly (2018).

Emmett also starred in both seasons of ITV's hit series The Tower playing DI Kieran Shaw.

In 2024, the actor had a leading role in Netflix's critically acclaimed show, Fool Me Once where he played opposite Michelle Keegan.

Speaking about what it was like to star in such a big show, Emmett told : "I signed onto Fool Me Once without reading the script, or the book even.

"I just admired the team behind it so much that it was a no-brainer really.

"But even then I hadn't predicted the the response the show was going to get, it's just been insane."

The lion's share of my scenes in Fool Me Once were with Michelle Keegan. She's wonderful and is such a remarkable actress and incredibly collaborative.

The actor went onto praise his co-star Michelle: "With Fool Me Once I was surrounded by people I loved and admired.

"The lion's share of my scenes were with Michelle Keegan.

"She's wonderful and is such a remarkable actress and incredibly collaborative.

"We had laughs on and off set, and it was so easy to gel with and work with her, and I really enjoyed that process."

Away from Fool Me Once, Emmett stars in huge BBC show Kin.

Is Emmett Scanlan married?

Emmett is married to his fellow Hollyoaks co-star Claire Cooper who he met on set.

His wife famously played the feisty Jacqui McQueen on the Channel 4 soap.

Like her husband, since leaving Hollyoaks Claire has focused on more serious drama which includes appearing in Scott & Bailey and Kay Mellor's hit show In The Club.

However, she returned as Jacqui in 2023.

The couple tied the knot in 2015 in New York.

Speaking about how the couple juggle their life as busy actors, Emmett told OK!: "We do understand each other and we've got a shorthand with each other and she helps me with with any screening tests that I have to do and vice versa.

"And there's a huge understanding, so if I have to do an interview she'll take the kids and go out and I'd do the same for her."

Does Emmett Scanlan have kids?

Emmett has three children, which includes two with wife Claire and a daughter from a previous relationship.

The actor's eldest child Kayla was born in 2002.

On July 18, 2020, Claire and Emmett welcomed a son named Ocean.

Two years later on November 12, 2022, she gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Fiáin.
