Overtones star Timmy Matley died after falling from a balcony after ‘taking Crystal Meth’
OVERTONES star Timmy Matley died after falling from a balcony while reportedly high on Crystal Meth.
The singer died on impact after falling from a flat in London in April this year, aged just 36.
In a new report published today, Poplar Coroner’s Court told his cause of death had been “determined as a drug-related accident”.
A coroner is also reported to have told the publication he took Class A drug Crystal Meth before plunging to his death.
Timmy’s passing stunned fans of the band when they released a statement confirming he had died suddenly.
Fans originally believed his death may have been linked to his skin cancer diagnosis.
Following this death, the group postponed their tour and said: “A message from Overtones HQ.
“The Overtones have postponed their performances at Potters on April 22nd and Bedworth on April 28th.
“The boys will be in touch with you all soon and have asked us to thank you all for your condolences and understanding.”
Timmy had been battling skin cancer before his death after being diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma in 2016.
Timmy joined The Overtones, originally called DYYCE and Lexi Joe, in 2010.
He auditioned for The X Factor in 2009 as part of Lexi Joe with Mark, Mike and Darren, but they missed out on making the final 24.
Afterwards they met Latchie and rebranded as a five-man band called The Overtones.

They then went on to achieve four top-ten albums in the UK and their debut, Good Ol' Fashioned Love, reached number four in the charts.
In 2016 the group toured with stage show That's Entertainment and then A Christmas Tour later that year, but Timmy was forced to pull out after his skin cancer diagnosis.
But he had returned to performing with the group and had been looking forward to their summer tour in July, with their first gig at Barnstaple Queens Theatre.
