The Apprentice boss Lord Sugar has vowed to leave the country if Jeremy Corbyn becomes Prime Minister

Lord Sugar, 71, said: “Corbyn, if he gets in I’m out. That’s for sure. That is a promise I will make to The Sun. If he’s in, I’m out. I won’t be writing £50million tax cheques any more. I’m gone. I don’t know where but I won’t be here.”

The businessman, once one of Labour’s largest donors, quit the party in 2015 after 18 years — citing its “negative” stance on business.

He remains an Independent peer in the House of Lords, after being granted a life peerage under Gordon Brown in 2009. He gave the party £163,827 after Ed Miliband became leader in 2010.

But he sympathised with PM Theresa May over Brexit negotiations, saying: “She’s got a tough job. I think she’s doing as best she can under the circumstances. She’s been lumbered with it, so to speak.

He warned contestants about trying to keep new-found fame alive on “lesser” reality shows.

Lord Sugar said: “Some are a bit stupid. Some will do anything to get back on TV and get lured into what I call third rate programmes where they sometimes are exploited.”
