Katie Price’s ex Kieran Hayler says she desperately needed rehab to save her career and family after ‘drug binges’
Kieran reveals 'drugs were around' during his marriage to Katie and now hopes 'somebody can get inside of her head and help'
TROUBLED Katie Price needed to go to rehab to save her life, according to her estranged husband Kieran Hayler.
In his first solo interview, Kieran exclusively told The Sun, the former model risks losing everything if she doesn’t get the help she desperately longs for – and hopes her decision to enter The Priory isn’t her latest publicity stunt.
The dad-of-two, 31, said: “I’m sceptical, but I think that she has to do it. I don’t think she’s got a choice.
“She has to do this not just for herself but for her career, for everything.
“If it is true, then good luck to her but if it’s not then I’ll be disappointed because I do believe that she needs some sort of help and guidance.
“I would like to think it will help her but you know, I don’t know. I’d like to think that somebody can get inside of her head and help her.”
Katie Price rapped about cocaine in a hotel room with two German strangers in a shocking videoKieran insists he had nothing to do with Katie going to rehab, claiming he hasn’t been in contact with her since The Sun revealed she checked into the clinic on Saturday for post-traumatic stress disorder.
He said: “I haven’t advised her in anything and I think this is something she needs to do herself, it’s not really for anybody else.
“Any sort of thing like that, you need to accept that you need help and you need to do it yourself and unless you accept that you need help, then no one’s ever going to change."
He hopes her intentions to get clean are genuine – and is keen to see Katie fighting fit again following her 28-stay at The Priory.
Talking about her decision to seek professional help he said: “Am I surprised? I’m not surprised. Do I think it’s real? I’d like to think so.
“But I don’t know. I hope it’s not a press stunt and I hope she is actually getting help and I wish her all the best.”
Concerns have been raised for the welfare of Katie’s children this year after she was pictured on several boozy holidays and caught on video rapping: “I love coke.”But Kieran, who shares Jett, five, and Bunny, four, with Katie, has insisted she never did drugs around their children, or her other children Harvey, 16, Junior, 13, and Princess, 11.
He explained: “There were never drugs lying around for the kids to touch or whatever. If Kate did drugs, that's her own thing. There were times when drugs were around.
“I'm not going to talk about actual drugs themselves because I don't think we need to talk about that.
“Drugs are done very socially in the celebrity world. Put it that way. That's all I'm going to say."
However, former stripper Kieran no longer knows what Katie gets up to behind closed doors, after he moved out of their marital home in May.
Asked if there were ever drugs in the house, he said: “From what I know, no. Whether or not that's changed since I was last there, I don't know.”
Loved ones confronted the former Loose Women star over footage of her drunkenly cavorting with two German men in Majorca and being photographed in the same images as cocaine.
Katie's mum Amy said: "Kate has been her own worst enemy and behaved like an idiot at times but she has been tearing herself apart for years."
Earlier this year Katie told how she had been left devastated by her mum being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, adding to a long list of struggles she's endured the last 12 months.
