JOE McFadden has claimed ignoring a ghost's advice led to him being burgled.

The Strictly Come Dancing champion has told how a psychic warned him a ghost was living on his stairs with a ferret.

Asked if he had received any messages from the other side on today's Loose Women, Joe said: "I did get a message from the other side through this friend who talks to ghosts.

"She gave me a message that there's a man sitting on my stairs, he had some animal with him, a ferret I think, and his message was to always lock my terrace doors.

"But I live on the fifth floor so I thought yeah whatever. Three weeks later I come back after doing panto and I came back and I'd been burgled."

Joe added that he wasn't insured then but he is now and he's learned his lesson.

He also spoke about his experiences on the BBC dancing show after winning last year.

Revealing he had been forced to miss the show's opener as reigning champion because he was attending a friend's wedding in Scotland, Joe also revealed he wasn't jealous of this year's contestants at all.

He said: "I had to miss it, I was at my friend's wedding in Glasgow. Nigella [Lawson] was there too and Richard Madden, it was quite star-studded.

"Richard Madden, The Bodyguard, he was doing a reading, and I was singing at my friend's wedding."

Joe added: "I'm not in the slightest [bit jealous] really, because we know what they have to go through.

"They make it look really polished but we know the blood, sweat and tears that goes into making it."
