Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall vowed to get a nose job after photoshoot airbrushing left her crippled by insecurities
The 25-year-old revealed she got a complex about her appearance when she was just 18 and the band were starting out
LITTLE MIX’s Jade Thirlwall was “determined” to get a nose job after she was airbrushed during a photoshoot when the band were first starting out.
The singer, 25, revealed she had been left with a “complex” and “insecurities” after the incident, but fortunately she never went through with it.
Discussing her experience, she wrote on Instagram: “In one of our first magazine shoots we did, my nose was completely changed and my skin was whitened.
“At 18, it gave me a complex and an insecurity and for years I was determined to get a nose job. I was that ugly the magazine had to change my appearance, right? Wrong.”
She opened up about the incident as she shared a quote from Nikita Gill, which was first shared by Jameela Jamil.
The quote read: “If all girls were taught how to love each other fiercely instead of how to compete with each other and hate their own bodies, what a different and beautiful world we would live in.”

Jade added: “We have all fallen victim to feeling like we need to change who we are/what we look like in order to fit into a society that determines what is and isn't beautiful. You are beautiful. We are all unique in our own way. It is society that needs to change, not you.”
The star recently revealed that the band - Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock- want to make music that empowers people.
She said: "We want our songs to empower people, make them feel confident. If anyone's feeling down, we want our music to make them happy."
