LIZ McDonald is heading for heartache in Coronation Street next week as she shares a kiss with her scheming ex-husband Jim.

Jim returned to the cobbles earlier this month and dropped the bombshell on Liz and son Steve that Katie – the daughter he and Liz thought had died in 1992 – was alive after all and has been living in Australia under the name of Hannah Gilmore.

But fans of the ITV soap know that Jim, played by Charles Lawson, and Hannah are actually lovers and are plotting to con Liz and Steve out of their assets.

Liz, cobbles legend Beverley Callard, has no idea about the scam though and has welcomed Hannah – and Jim – back into her life with open arms.

Her best friend Eileen Grimshaw is left despairing when Liz confides in her that she secretly still has feelings for her ex.

Liz confesses to Jim that she’s still got feelings for him and the pair end up sharing a passionate kiss.

Meanwhile Jim and Hannah are moving forward with their plot to blackmail money out of Johnny Connor.

Jim discovered in a previous episode that Liz and Johnny had a fling and he’s using this knowledge to try and extort money from the grieving pub landlord.

Hannah tells Jim they need to put more pressure on Johnny to cough up and his wife Jenny Connor is bemused when she receives a bouquet of flower with a card saying ‘these are to help you through tomorrow.’

Johnny is terrified and tells daughter Carla that he’s going to have to pay up. Will he?
