The duo star together in the musical flick, set for worldwide release next week

LADY Gaga truly dazzled in a glittering silver gown at the premiere of A Star Is Born in Los Angeles last night.

The singer, 32, posed beside co-star and director Bradley Cooper on the star-studded carpet at the Shrine Auditorium.

The Just Dance hitmaker commanded attention in the sequin and lace gown, complete with matching cape and lengthy train.

Not holding back on the glitz, she accessorised with a glittering diamond choker and ring, before adding a slick of red lipstick in a glamorous finishing touch.

The singer blew kisses for cameras, before spending the rest of her evening signing autographs for waiting fans.

Gaga was joined on the carpet by Bradley, who posed in a slick blue three-piece suit and polka dot tie.

IT'S A BORN WINNER

First review of A Star Is Born by Jamie East

NOT many films get made four times. But the story of a fading country star riddled with tinnitus and addiction falling in love with his rising star protege — and the struggles that come with the transference of fame and power — is truly a compelling one.

The unlikely combination of actor Bradley Cooper as Jack and singer Lady Gaga as Ally taking a huge, ambitious leap in her first major movie role certainly raised eyebrows when it was announced. But, oh boy, believe the hype — this is a sensational movie.

While Gaga is certainly on more familiar ground performing in front of huge crowds, the chemistry during what appears to be largely improvised scenes between her and Cooper are nothing short of electric.

He delivers an astonishing directorial debut and, as if this wasn’t enough, his booze-soaked take on fame, addiction and jealousy as Jack is an absolute joy.

I can’t recommend this movie enough. And I can’t imagine anyone not being bowled over by almost everything it has to offer.

A Star Is Born is the third remake of the well-known story - first told in 1937 by Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, and in 1954 through a musical version starring Judy Garland and James Mason.

It tells the story of a hard-living country star, played by Cooper, who falls in love with a young upcoming singer, played by Gaga.

The two leads sang every song in the film live on set, which Bradley recently revealed was Gaga's "terrifying" but ultimately genius idea.

He explained at the Tribeca Film Festival: "She said to me, "I’m gonna rely on you to get a performance that’s honest out of me," because she’d never done a film before, "and I’m gonna make sure you that turn into a musician, because we’re going to sing everything live."

"And I thought, wait, what! She said, "No, that's the only way this is going to work. I can’t stand when I watch movies when they have music and you can tell when it’s pre-recorded and people are lip-syncing."

"And she’s right. So that was terrifying, but I really relied on her."

The latest version has been in the works for some time, and had previously boasted Clint Eastwood as director with Beyonce as his star.

However Cooper later took control of the flick - marking his first major picture as director - and cast Gaga as the lead instead.

The film, which also stars Sam Elliott and Dave Chapelle, is set to hit cinemas worldwide next week.
