Aisleyne Horgan Wallace gives her verdict on the ‘epic’ Big Brother line-up as the series returns to its ‘old school’ roots
BIG Brother will never die!
Last night's launch may be its last after Channel 5 revealed it was being axed - but it was fabulous, fun and I have a good feeling that this final series will be epic.
Producers have promised that this latest edition of the iconic show - which kicked off last night when the housemates were unveiled to an emotional public - will be more like old school Big Brother, and if that’s true I’m ecstatic. That’s when the show was at its best!
So the twist? Well ,this series is called 'Survival of the Richest', and Big Brother have introduced the ‘big coin’ as currency in the house.
The housemates will have chances to win coins this week and the three of them with the fewest coins will be up for eviction next Friday. So there will be no nominations to worry about.
Sian was voted most popular this week by the public. Her video introduction said she’s a normal girl who works in a cafe and us British love an underdog. So last night she was given 100 coins as her prize, meaning she's already one up on all the other housemates.
So here’s my first impressions of possibly the last ever Big Brother series in the UK (although I’m a staunch believer that this will not be the end)...
1. Cian the red haired gay Irish farmer. I loved him, but then I’m biased because he’s Irish. He seemed fun and full of life I think he will be a great housemate.
2. Anamelia the spiritual adviser. What a beautiful girl! Totally into star signs and spirituality. I know her personally and she’s a cutie - although Big Brother promised no ex-reality show contestants this year so I do wonder if they know about her stint on the X Factor?
3. Lewis F the bartender. Well HELLO HANDSOME! A self-confessed bad boy who’s been in trouble with the law - a lot! I’m surprised because when Big Brother was on Channel 4 they was super strict about criminal records. I definitely think he’s broken a few hearts in his time though, and my bet is on him having a romance - or two or even three - in the house.
4. Kenaley the call centre worker. I like her. She’s cute but feisty, although I was being inundated with tweets saying she was trying to be the new Aisleyne. Well, if she is, she’s onto a winner then isn’t she!
5. Tomasz the cleaner. I wish I’d have had a cleaner in my series of Big Brother. If he’s a clean freak he will struggle in that house. People are gross in there. Trust me. But he said he snores so he might be an easy target if the housemates do have to nominate.
6. Cameron the vlogger. He reminded me of Luke Marsden - slightly awkward, geeky and political. He’s gonna be a brilliant housemate. Can’t wait to see him blossom!
7. Sian is another beautiful lady but down to earth with it. She came across as funny as well as real and is already the public's fave.
8. Ellis, hmm the jury is out for me. I need more time to make up my mind, as I didn’t quite get her. She’s really young so maybe she needs time to relax around such big characters.
9. Isaac, oh another cutie who is easy on the eye! However he seemed quite arrogant on first impressions. He’s an ex-semi-pro footballer and he used the word "banter" which fills me with fear. I really hope he’s got more to him than Jermaine Pennant did....
10. Brooke the graphic designer. She seems cool and she said she’s bringing calmness and mindfulness to the house. So I can see her being the peace maker in there. I like her.
11. Akeem the consultant. He’s a twin so I think he will be competitive. He said in his video introduction he wants to win, and not many admit that straight away.
12. Kay the artist. She has two alter egos, a man and a cat and I already think she’s a prat. Just seems a bit attention seeking. I hope she proves me wrong.
13. Zoe the carer. Absolutely loved her. She cares for her son which immediately makes me know she’s a compassionate person. I also loved the way she said she rates herself as a 10/10 and will not let society make her feel otherwise. If I had to predict a winner from the first night, I’d choose her.
14. Lewis G the bricklayer. Oh dear... I had high hopes for him because he’s a fellow Camden Town kid like myself.
He’s also lived a crazy life and spent years growing up in the Playboy Mansion so I thought he’d be cool. But he really REALLY milked his entrance and ended up getting booed.
I really hope he doesn’t let Camden down, and I hope he wins lots of coins and isn’t evicted next week because I have a feeling he will be a great housemate - even if you don’t like him.
See you next Friday for eviction night xx
