NIAMH Blackshaw is joining the cast of Hollyoaks and eagle-eyed soap fans will recognise her from Coronation Street.
So who’s Niamh playing in Hollyoaks and what do we know about her?
Who is Niamh Blackshaw?
Niamh Blackshaw is a Manchester born actress.
She’s best known for her role as Lara Cutler in Coronation Street.
She will join the cast of Hollyoaks in October 2017 as Juliet Quinn.
Niamh said about joining the C4 soap: “I am so excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.
Who does Niamh Blackshaw play in Hollyoaks?
Niamh plays Juliet, the younger sister of Romeo Quinn and daughter of prostitute Donna-Marie.
Hollyoaks insiders have described Juliet as a damaged and vulnerable young girl who tends to lash out at the world by bullying others.
Juliet has a close bond with her brother Romeo who has always been on hand to protect her.
She will attend the newly re-furbed Hollyoaks High alongside Ollie Morgan, Brooke Hathaway and Imran Maalik.
When was Niamh Blackshaw in Coronation Street?
Niamh Blackshaw played Lara Cutler in Corrie from May-July 2017.
Her character was a victim of Nathan Curtis’ grooming gang who preyed on young girls including Bethany Platt.
Bethany tried to convince Lara to testify alongside her in court, but Lara was becoming depressed, unable to cope with what had happened to her.
It was revealed in October 2017 that Lara had died by suicide after throwing herself in front of an oncoming train.
