Who is Abi Franklin in Coronation Street?
Abi Franklin is the mum of Seb Franklin, played by Harry Visinoni, and was introduced to viewers in October 2017.
When Abi first appeared on screen she was a recovering drug addict being monitored by social services because she had two small children, twins Lexi and Charlie
Anna Windass was the first character to meet Abi and was appalled by the conditions she and her children lived in.
Anna, Debbie Rush, was also horrified that Abi was drinking vodka when she should have been taking care of her kids.
Later Abi was found unconscious in her house by Seb and his then-girlfriend Faye Windass.
It was revealed that Abi had taken a drug overdose and subsequently went into rehab.
Is Abi Franklin on drugs in Coronation Street?
Abi has been clean of drugs since January 2018 when she returned to Coronation Street following her rehabilitation.
She has almost relapsed a couple of times – most notably when she had a visit from the twins and they told her they preferred their foster mum to her.
Abi was devastated as she desperately wants her children back and – heartbroken – bought some drugs, but didn’t take them.
Steve McDonald found her and found the drugs on her. They had a heart-to-heart and Abi decided she didn’t want to go back to her old ways.
But the mechanic is set to take an overdose after coming to the conclusion that her kids are better off without her.
She's also finding it difficult to deal with being accused of tampering with Michelle's car which caused the fatal car crash involving Ronan Truman.
