Coleen Nolan’s fans rally around star after she cancels solo tour and quits Loose Women

TORTURED Coleen Nolan may find some comfort in the fact that her fans are rallying round her as she struggles through accusations she bullied former Celebrity Big Brother co-star Kim Woodburn.

The 53-year-old TV personality has been under fire for the past week after becoming embroiled in an explosive argument with 76-year-old Kim live on Loose Women.

There has been growing anger directed towards Coleen since her clash with Kim – with complaints sent to Ofcom, a petition to have her fired from Loose Women, and death threats being directed to her via social media.

And unfortunately, it seems the trolls may have won – as Coleen announced she has quit TV and postponed her planned upcoming solo tour.

Sharing an announcement from Coleen via her Twitter feed, the star’s tour team revealed the sad news to loyal fans.

“Following the constant online bullying, trolling, and misrepresentation of her words, actions and re-actions, it is with sad regret that Coleen is taking an immediate hiatus from all her current commitments including Loose Women and postponing her Never Too late solo concert tour,” the announcement read.

“Coleen has spent 50 years in show-business and 18 years as one of the most loved members of the Loose Women panel, and has never been subjected to such a horrifying torrent of online abuse or such a heart-breaking attack on her reputation,” it continued.

“Coleen is devastated to let her supporters and fans down, but is currently not strong enough to withstand this constant and unfounded online abuse,” the statement went on.

“So she will be taking time out and spending it with her children and family where she feels loved and respected,” they wrote.

Fans were quick to react with warm wishes to encourage the Coleen not to feel down.

“Wishing you all the best. You don't deserve that kind of abuse. So sorry you've had to postpone your tour,” one devastated fan wrote in response to the statement.

“The comments Coleen has received are absolutely disgusting and no one deserves that. How people think that it's acceptable to treat someone like that, to call someone a bully and feel an appropriate punishment for that is to bully them in return. The whole situation is just messed up,” one fan wrote.

Another typed: “The worst thing is, these people/trolls claiming @NolanColeen bullied Kim have done nothing but become bullies themselves. Hypocritical keyboard warriors. Stand strong Coleen.”

While other fans begged the star to reconsider postponing her tour.

“Oh come on Coleen !!! You're stronger than that. Stand strong and get back out there, otherwise you're letting that witch win,” one wrote – with another typing: “Totally agree your solo tour is ages away yet and that could be your way of saying up you to the haters and performed to your fans.”

“‘Not strong enough to withstand this constant online abuse’ But she’s strong enough to dish it out to a 78 year old woman with her passive aggressive attitude. Hope she never goes on Tv again,” one fan wrote.

Others mocked her decision to postpone her tour, with one writing: “No ticket sales?” and another commenting: “Lol. Be a bully, face the consequences. I also suspect this had something to do with low ticket sales too, not that poor Coleen couldn’t deal with the criticism. Good riddance.”

While another said: “Worst. Apology. Ever,” – while another chimed in stating: “Apology? All I saw was me, me, me poor me.”
