CELEBRITY Big Brother received over 11,000 complaints after last night’s "punch" row between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas.
The Sun Online can reveal that 11,215 viewers lodged complaints to Ofcom, with the majority in response to Roxanne’s reaction to the incident.
The media watchdog told The Sun Online: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
Last night fans of the show were left shocked when the former Emmerdale actress claimed she was "punched" by Ryan "like a boxer would punch a bag" and accused him of being a "woman beater".
The former Coronation Street actor was given a formal warning by Big Brother after Roxanne demanded to speak to a producer about something which made her feel "very uncomfortable" following a play fight between the pair, and she later asked for him to be booted off the show.
After it aired hundreds off fans took to Twitter to reveal they had lodged complaints with Ofcom and asked for her "kicked out of the house", claiming she was "making a mockery of abuse victims".
One person tweeted: "I've just logged a complaint with ofcom (took less than 5 mins)...by #cbb issuing a warning to Ryan, it demonstrates #cbb accepts that Ryan had intent to hurt or upset her, this was clearly not the case; #cbb and @RoxannePallett should apologies immediately."
Another commented: "@Ofcom To whom it may concern. I like to make a formal complaint against happenings on #CBB..."
Fans have since claimed that Roxanne was holding the wrong side of her body after the alleged incident.
While she was initially holding her left hand side, she later rubbed the right hand side after making a complaint.
In the Diary Room, Roxanne burst into tears and said: "A boy who's punched me repeatedly, unprovoked, completely deliberate. He actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag.
"We weren't play fighting. There wasn't banter, it wasn't a joke, there was no exchange.
"I can't believe you're letting someone stay in that's done that, it's not on."
Big Brother assured the former Emmerdale star they were taking her comments "very seriously" and later warned Ryan about his "unacceptable behaviour."
Ryan, who has been inundated with support from friends, family and fans, replied: "I think Roxanne knows there was no malice or anger."
