What happened during Biscuit Week?

Twelve bakers took o the task of making biscuits for the judges.

But who impressed Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith?

Here were the winners and losers of each challenge;

  • Signature Bake - 24 biscuits were asked for. The biscuits were iced and a variety of shapes, flavours and sizes. Some were bland, some were underbaked, others were overbaked and some had no snap.Terry came bottom with his unfinished and unrefined Lake District ginger shortbread.Antony's psychedelic biscuits impressed. Karen was praised for her piping work with Kim-Joy, Luke, Imelda, Briony and Manon also impressing. Jon, Ruby, Rahul and Dan failed to shine - with Ruby making 25 biccies due to "bad maths".
  • Technical Challenge - set by Paul the blind-judged challenge was to make eight wagon wheels in two and a quarter hours.A very British delicacy, two shortbread biscuits are sandwiched together with marshmallow and jam and then covered with chocolate. As is usual with the Technical, some of the bakes were disasters and others demonstrated skill.Antony came in last place, with Imelda 11th, Kim-Joy 10th, Terry 9th, Luke 8th, Rahul 7th, Karen in sixth place and Jon fifth.

    Fourth place went to Dan, Manon came third, Briony was second and the baker who came out on top was Ruby.

  • The Showstopper challenge was to create a self-portrait fashioned out of biscuit. The judges were very impressed by Dan, Rahul, Briony and Terry - but did they do enough to save themselves?

She revealed: "I went in for me as a challenge obviously for the baking, but also to have the confidence of meeting new people, I don’t usually put myself out there personally."
