Who is Gina McKee?

Gina McKee, is a 54-year-old actress from County Durham.

The star married Kez Cary in 1989 and currently lives in East Sussex.

Starting from when she was 15, she spent three summers in London with the National Youth Theatre.

She was rejected from the drama schools she applied to when she was younger, but in 2002, Gina received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Sunderland.

The actress has been in countless TV series, movies and theatre productions since the start of her career in the late 1970s.

What TV series has Gina McKee played in?

Gina played Mary in the BBC drama Our Friends in the North, which won her three Best Actress awards in 1997 from the BAFTAs, the Royal Television Society and the Broadcasting Press Guild.

She also appeared Casualty, Screen Two, Missing, and Emerald City.

While the English actress played Jackie in Line of Duty, she is now set to appear in BBC One's latest political drama Bodyguard which was shot around central London.

Her character Commander Anne Sampson is the Head of the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command who reports directly to the Home Secretary.

Gina kickstarted her acting career in 1988 when she has a minor role in The Lair of the White Norm.

She played the character Bella in the ever-so-famous Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

The 54-year-old was also in Atonement, In the Loop and When Did You Last See Your Father? among many others.
