Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, producer Ben Frow revealed bosses were left "furious" by Stormy's bailing, as they focused the series on her appearance.

He said: "We built a whole week around Stormy. I flew someone out to accompany her here. She disappeared on us.

"I was bloody furious actually, we built the White House and the whole goddamn thing around her."

The show erected their own White House in the mansion for Stormy, in a jibe at her alleged affair with President Donald Trump.

Stormy Daniels explains why she did not appear on Celebrity Big Brother during an interview on Loose Women

Bosses smoothed over the hiccup by promoting Hollywood actress Kirstie Alley to the role of Big Brother President last minute.

Stormy later discussed her controversial decision on Loose Women, where she claimed producers would not let her speak to her daughter if she appeared on the show.

The star is in the midst of a divorce and custody battle, and said bosses went back on their agreement that she could contact her child on the outside.

She said: “Being a mum comes first and I wanted to be able to talk to her [she’s 7 years old] with everything going on. But I wanted to work with them."

Stormy said they agreed she could go on the show to explain her decision, and that her day rate would be given to charity.

She continued: "We agreed to that, the live show started, I stayed at the hotel. They came back a couple of hours later and said, ‘You’re either going to go on and stay in the house, follow the contract to a ‘T’ or we’re deporting you in the morning at 6am’."

Channel 5 has denied this is what happened.
