BlacKkKlansman arrived in UK cinemas on Friday, August 24, 2018.

The American biographical drama was released in the US at the end of July.

It has earned near universal acclaim.

It is helmed by Malcolm X and Inside Man director Spike Lee.

What's BlacKkKlansman all about?

BlacKkKlansman is based on the 2014 memoir Black Klansman: Race, Hate And The Undercover Investigation Of A Lifetime by Ron Stallworth, from his time at the Colorado Springs Intelligence Unit in 1978.

Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado, infiltrates the local Ku Klux Klan with the help of a white cop.

The white officer, Flip Zimmerman, goes undercover in the group while Stallworth speaks to them on the phone, playing his part by ranting about “n*****s, Jews and Mexicans".

Stallworth's relationship with the hate group even leads to a relationship with the Klan's Grand Wizard, David Duke.

Who's in the cast of BlacKkKlansman?

The son of two-time Academy-Award winning actor Denzel, John David Washington, leads the cast as Detective Ron Stallworth, the first black member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Alongside him is Star Wars: The Last Jedi villain Adam Driver as Detective Flip Zimmerman, Ron's co-worker who poses in his place.

Spider-Man: Homecoming star Laura Harrier joins the cast as Patrice Dumas while fellow Spider-Man alumni Topher Grace plays the grand wizard, David Duke.

90210 star Ryan Eggold and Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins play Walter Breachway and Kwame Ture respectively, with Alec Baldwin as Dr Kennebrew Beauregard.
