Fiddy was joined for filming alongside troubled rap star Tekashi 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez, 22) when the shots were fired.

“Witnesses say someone in a white Porsche with New Jersey license plates fired at least 11 shots during filming in Brooklyn Tuesday at around 10:30 PM [local time],” TMZ reports.

“Based on the shell casings it appears the shooter use a 9 mm semi-automatic weapon. No one was hit,” the site adds - while stating police are involved in the incident, writing: "Cops are reviewing surveillance video, but so far no one has been taken into custody."

A plethora of other rap stars – including the artists Casanova and Uncle Murda – were also involved in the music video.

Behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot shows some rap stars playing with guns (which one of the group appears keen to stress is “fake, by the way”) as they rapped between takes.

50 Cent famously survived being shot nine times at close range back in May 2000 – with the incident giving him an epiphany and setting him on his way to becoming a rap star.

“After I got shot nine times at close range and didn't die, I started to think that I must have a purpose in life,” he reflected in his 2005 autobiography, From Pieces to Weight: Once upon a Time in Southside Queens.

Meanwhile, Tekashi 6ix9ine survived a violent attack of his own in July this year.

The rapper, from NYC, was kidnapped, robbed of over $750,000 (£590,000) worth of belongings and cash and hospitalised after being “pistol whipped” outside his home following a music video shoot –

The rapper is currently facing three years in prison and possible registration on the sex offenders register in America after breaking a probation in relation to a 2015 guilty plea for creating sexual material involving a 13-year-old girl.

He is due in court to face sentencing on 2 October 2018.
