I’M A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Extra Camp host Joel Dommett says Declan Donnelly will be "fine on his own" when he presents the main show without best mate Ant McPartlin.

The comedian ruled out stepping in to co-present this year's series but backed pal Scarlett Moffatt to.

It comes after troubled Ant announced he would be missing out on this year’s I’m A Celeb and 2019’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Joel, 32, told the Sun’s Bizarre column: "I'm sure he’ll be fine on his own. He's amazing, they both are. It's an amazing team."

He added: "I don't think they'd trust me with such very big shoes to fill.

“Genuinely I would never be able to do it. I don't know whether I would really.

“I could never imagine the amount of pressure you'd have when you're in that role.

"Scarlett is the best, she's the nicest, most wonderful human being.

“Very funny. Very quick, professional, nice, I love her."

Last week Ant, 42, ruled himself out of the ITV reality show leaving Dec, 42, to go it alone and postponed Takeaway until 2020 because pre-production work would need to begin imminently.

He said: “My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the New Year.”

In December stand-up Joel popped the question to girlfriend Hannah Cooper.

He told the Sun they’ll be getting hitched in Mykonos next year.

Joel said: “We're pretty chilled with the wedding vibes.

“We're having a really small wedding abroad next year — we are doing Mykonos.
