The Meg was officially released on Friday, August 10, 2018.
The Warner Bros flick cost a reported $150million to make and has a runtime just shy of two hours, finishing at 113 minutes.
It has been awarded a 12A rating in the UK meaning hardcore fans shouldn't expect the Megalodon to be excessively violent during its reign of terror.
Film rights for the Steve Alten novel had originally been purchased by Disney in 1997 and production has endured multiple delays and cancellations prior to its eventual release.
Who is in the cast?
Jason Statham leads the cast as rescue diver Jonas Taylor who attempts to save a group of scientists from a massive underwater shark attack.
The 51-year-old has been synonymous with his action-thriller roles, including The Transporter, The Mechanic, and most recently as Deckard Shaw in The Fast and Furious franchise.
Alongside him are The Office star Rainn Wilson and Fear The Walking Dead's Travis Manawa as Jack Morris and James "Mac" Mackreides respectively.
