Who is Chuckle Brothers star Paul Elliott?

PAUL Elliott shot to fame as one half of the Chuckle Brothers and is partly responsible for their catchphrase To Me To You.

The comedian is back on the box in Celebrity MasterChef 2022.

Who is Paul Elliott?

Paul is a comedian who was born in Rotherham on October 18, 1947 - making him 74.

He made up one half of the Chuckle Brothers along with his brother Barry who sadly died on August 5, 2018, aged 73.

They were introduced to the bright lights of the stage at a young age.

Their father James Elliott went by the stage name Gene Patton and worked the London club scene, even performing with an 18-year-old Peter Sellers in 1943.

The duo also have two older brothers Jimmy and Brian who are known collectively as the Patton Brothers.

Their siblings also starred alongside their siblings in their show Chuckle Vision.

How did Paul Elliot become famous?

With a career spanning half a century, the Chuckle Brothers have popped up in all kinds of shows.

Their career was launched by an appearance on the talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1967.

From 1996-1998 they presented the children's game show To Me, To You named after their signature catchphrase, which was set on a desert island.

Following their inaugural performance, they featured on a number of other variety shows before securing their own show Chuckle Vision, the kids' programme that made them famous.

The show was one of the longest running children's programmes on the BBC continuing for 22 years from 1987 to 2009.

The Chuckle Brothers also fronted another show called Chuckle Time.

Who is Paul Elliott's wife?

Paul is married to his beloved wife Sue.

The couple own various properties in the UK and abroad including in France, Greece and Italy.

Sue is not in the public eye, so little is known about her profession or background.

Paul released a statement revealing his heartache at his brother Barry's sad passing on the August 5 2018.

He said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend."

Barry’s manager Phil Dale revealed the children’s entertainer had died surrounded by his family.

He said: "It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family."

He added: "The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."
