A TEEN Corrie star has denied splitting from his pregnant girlfriend — and told of his excitement over the upcoming birth.
Alex Bain and Levi Selby, both 16, are expecting a girl in December.
Levi last week hinted at a break-up, posting on Facebook: “Me and my little girl from now on!”
But Alex said: “I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family!”
The pair also said the tot’s name is Lydia-Rose.
Alex has played Simon Barlow on the ITV soap since 2008. He is said to have been telling school pals in Lancashire about the baby.
A source said: “They’ve been through a bad patch but are now stronger than ever and so excited to meet their baby.
“It feels even more real now they’ve got a name. They just want to shout it from the rooftops.”
Levi announced on social media that she and Alex are expecting by posting a picture of her 12-week scan.
She revealed that their child is due on December 8.
Alex and Levi have been together since April last year.
Her mum Judith Calvert posted a picture of the baby scan on Facebook on Thursday.
She excitedly told pals she was set to become a nan again. She said: “Call me Granny Walton.”
Alex’s portrayal of Ken Barlow’s grandson Simon saw him win Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards in 2011.
His troubled character has been raised by alcoholic dad Peter and become physically abusive after he was adopted by step-mum Leanne Battersby.
Alex’s home life has been a far cry from his character.
He grew up in Blackburn with parents Debra and Paul and made his first television appearance in an ad for Rice Krispies.
