Love Island’s Alex George lined up for regular slot on This Morning after confessing ‘I would love to do TV doctor work’
ITV bosses are lining up Love Island star Doctor Alex George for a regular slot on This Morning after impressing viewers with his expertise.
The A&E doctor, 27, has caught the eye of execs and could join the ranks of Doctor Hilary Jones and Doctor Zoe Williams who already appear on the daytime show.
A TV insider said: “Producers were impressed with Alex following his time on the show this week – and were intrigued to hear him say how keen he was to pursue more TV work.
“They believe it would be great to have a new face whose come from a show like Love Island and can appeal to a younger audience to give his insight on the medical world.
“He talks really passionately about his profession and is a big star thanks to his summer in the villa – but wants to use his newfound fame to educate the masses.”
During his appearance on the show this week Alex said he had every intention to return to his medical practice and even hoped to become a face on TV in regards to his profession.
He said: “My interest to be honest is to go back to A&E and I would really love to be involved in medical education to the public.
“There were points where I was talking in the villa like about C-sections and everyone was really interested and I think people of my age want to know more about the medical world.
“I would love to do TV doctor work because I am passionate about my job and would love to make that accessible to all audiences.”
Alex also told hosts Eamonn and Ruth that he wasn't interested in boosting his public profile by posting on Instagram or taking part in any club appearances for some quick cash.
