LOVE Island star Amber Davies last night sent a message to this year’s winners: You’ll have a wonderful year, but your romance might not last long.

Amber, who won a year ago with Kem Cetinay, said their successors will have a VIP lifestyle and more money than they know how to spend.

But she warned they will have to work on their relationship outside of the idyllic villa.

She said: “Kem and I realised we weren’t meant to be after just one week of the series ending.

“But I thought by splitting up I was going to break the nation’s hearts and he felt the same.

“Jack and Dani will know right away too. Their relationship will either become exhausting or a success story.

“If they do reach a point where they want to split then they mustn’t stay with each other just to please other people or their fans.”

Amber, 21, finally split from 22-year-old Kem, 4½ months after their win.

They had become the first couple to have sex on the ITV2 series. And Amber reckons that gave her and Kem and advantage over show favourites Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, who have resisted being intimate for eight weeks.

She said: “Sex is a big deal in a relationship. It is so organic and lovely the way the way they have fallen in love without sex, but it may be make or break for them.

“I bet there’s a lot of sexual tension between them. It will have been such a build up after eight weeks and they’re just waiting for this intimate moment.

“Poor Jack needs to deliver and it will probably be over in seconds.”

Amber said keeping romance alive inside the Majorcan villa was more simple than in the real world.

She said: “When you come out you have to meet their family, see what they’re like on the outside.

“You’re introducing a mobile phone into the relationship when that wasn’t a factor in the villa — things do massively change.

“In the villa Kem and I would be sat there speaking to each other but when you’re at home you’re sitting there on your phones and you forget to communicate.

“You stop paying each other attention. I would advise any of the couples to put their phones away and have half-an-hour before bed to speak like they did in the villa.

Amber’s reality check after winning the £50,000 prize came when she landed on British soil and was met by thousands of hard-core Love Island fans at the airport.

Instead of catching up with her family waiting in arrivals, she felt forced to pose for selfies while being suddenly hit by her overnight fame.

She said: “We were thrown in to the deep end. It was the most bizarre feeling I’ve ever felt.

“The biggest moment for the winners coming home today will be as they reach the airport.

“You’re a puppet. You’re getting dragged to each corner of the airport. People are screaming and asking for your picture and you think you’re dreaming. It was amazing but it was very scary.”

But Amber happily accepts there is an upside. She has a VIP lifestyle and 1.7million followers on Instagram.

She also boasts a Motel Rocks clothing collection and a swimwear collaboration with lingerie brand Bluebella.

The star has made more money than she has time to spend — even after buying a dozen Chanel handbags.

Amber explained: “It is a win, win situation — an absolute ideal world.

“Reality stars are a growing trend and we actually have the power to help businesses grow by promoting them on our social media, which means we get a lot of stuff for free too. I am earning while getting freebies.

“I never knew followers would be so important to me but they are. I am a businesswoman now.

“The funny thing is I don’t actually have time to spend my money.

“I get lump sums of money from brands but it always depends on your Instagram following how much you can get from posts.

“You have to post everyday which isn’t a chore to me. I have a fan base wanting to know what I am wearing and what I am doing.

“I need to provide and they follow me for a reason — they don’t want to see a blank page or I’ll get unfollowed.”

She added: “TV opportunities don’t earn you as much, but I would rather be on TV and make less.”

Amber could not believe her luck when she stood in with Kem for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

She was also thrilled to appear as a guest on Lorraine and attend the National Television Awards – even if Love Island failed to scoop a prize.

She said: “I have done things I never dreamt I would do. Even walking on a red carpet.

“I’ve absolutely loved going on Lorraine and I presented Good Morning Britain – that was incredible. I have been to the National Television Awards and The Brits.

“I went to Cannes and various film premieres.”

And referring to an infamous trap-door gaffe, she added: “I even had Gemma Collins fall on me at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.”

But a year after heading to Majorca in search of love, and eight months after her split from Kem, finding lasting romance remains more challenging than ever.

She admitted: “Meeting boys now is so difficult. I have had a few failed relationships since Kem.

“All new men in my life want is Instagram followers, it is awful.

“Then I think do I want to go with someone famous. They treat girls like pigs because they can have anyone they want but someone ‘normal’ doesn’t understand your life. I am so sick of kissing frogs.”

Top life lessons of Love Island

By Joely Chilcott

As Love Island finishes, we round up the reality series’ top life lessons.

Nice guys CAN finish first: Genuinely lovely Dani and Jack were the most loyal, caring and natural couple.

Nothing is more important than good suncream: Dr Alex’s red glow had us wincing every night and bulk-buying SPF50.

Looks can mask insecurity: Stunning Megan Barton Hanson forked out £25k on surgery. And her past as a stripper had her panicking about her reputation.

Let actions speak louder than words: Saying “I’m loyal” ten times a day like Georgia Steel did doesn’t make you loyal, as that kiss proved.

Sleep on the sofa after an argument: Don’t get in the same bed as your partner if you’ve rowed. Sleep on it — preferably on the sofa like almost every couple did — and make up in the morning.

Don’t ask questions you don’t want answered: Laura Crane learnt the hard way. Asking about exes ends in tears if there’s a lie detector.

Dress to impress the parents: It’s best to put clothes on. It was very awkward when families met Islanders in thong bikinis, plunging swimsuits and tiny trunks.

Address gaslighting: When Adam Collard made Rosie Williams feel as though her justified upset was her own fault, Women’s Aid said he showed “clear warning signs” of emotional abuse.

You don’t need to have sex to fall in love: Jack and Dani kept their relationship very PG with only a cheeky snog here and there. Yet they declared their love for each other early on.

You might be happy but could you be happier?: It turns out Wes Nelson, who coined the phrase could — as he dumped Laura Anderson to couple up with Megan.
