LOVE Island's Dr Alex George has confirmed he will return to his job as an A&E doctor, despite finding fame on the reality show.

Appearing on today's Loose Women, the handsome medic admitted he has every intention of going back to his job, while Alexandra Cane shut down any possibility of a reconciliation between the pair.

Asked what their post-Love Island plans were, Alex enthused: "I absolutely love my work in A&E and I know I can have a laugh and joke but I do take my work very seriously."

Pressed on his level of seniority, he explained: "I've done my foundation years of training so I'm sort of that middle level."

But while Alex might be content with his career, his love life still shows no sign of flourishing, as Alexandra dismissed the possibility of the pair giving things another go.

"We're getting on so well as friends," he confessed.

The stunning make-up artist then added: "Since the pressure came off we've been having such a good time."

But things took an awkward turn when the Loose Women asked if they would consider trying again now they don't have the stress of the villa.

"You never know on the outside," Alex teased.

But Alexandra wasn't playing along, instantly hitting back: "I don't think I could do it again."

The interview also saw panellist Nadia Sawalha bring up the moment Alexandra's mother gave Alex a telling off for the way he had treated her daughter in last night's show.

Pulling him up on his behaviour, Alexandra's mum Janice said: "That was one thing that I didn’t grasp.

"When you recoupled and you seemed to expect her to be grateful, and you I think made some comment ‘what’s the matter with her, why she’s so grumpy?’
