Kanye West’s father Ray ‘being treated for prostate cancer’ claim US reports
Rapper's dad Ray is said be undergoing treatment after discovering he had the disease.
KANYE West’s father Ray has been “diagnosed with prostate cancer” according to TMZ.
The US news outlet claimed the rapper’s dad was being treated for the illness in Los Angeles, California, and was said to be “” to treatment.
Ray's cancer battle comes almost ten years after Kanye, 41, sadly lot his mother Donda to coronary artery disease.
The Sun Online has contacted Kanye's representatives.
Back in 2016, Kanye revealed his breakdown was triggered by the forthcoming anniversary of his mother's death.
Kanye was incredibly close to Donda and wrote his track Hey Mama to honour what she had sacrificed for him growing up.
Kanye is believed to have named his youngest daughter, with wife Kim Kardashian, Chicago, in Donda's memory.
After her split with Ray, Donda went on to become a professor at the Chicago State University and, after her death, a charity in the city was created by Kanye to continue her legacy.
Donda’s House provides a safe haven for young people and allows them access to instruments.
In 2013, Kanye donated over £100,000 to the charity and is in regular contact with the cause.
Last November, Kanye returned to Chicago to play a concert which marked the 10 year anniversary of his mum’s passing.
Kanye has made no secret of the fact he blames himself for Donda’s death.
After the pair moved to Los Angeles, she underwent cosmetic surgery.
Complications at a later stage are reported to have led to her sudden passing.
